Forest County Poultry Testing Date set

Forest County residents interested in showing poultry at the 2018 Forest County Fair must have their animals tested by a Wisconsin Certified Pullorum Tester.  This is a Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection policy designed to control avian bird flu out-breaks.  The Forest County Agricultural Society, Inc. will be offering this test on Saturday, August 18th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Sipple Farm located at the intersection of Hwy 32 and N in the Town of Argonne.

All species of birds, such as chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pigeons, doves and other exotics are required to be tested.  Exhibitors must bring a premise ID number to the test.  The cost of the test is for the Antigen Serum and will range from $1.00 to $2.00 per bird.  Tested birds will be identified with leg bands tags and numbers Poultry without this identification will not be allowed to enter the Forest County Fairgrounds.
