Here we go again…Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature is once again causing problems for our smoothie competition that was scheduled for Sunday, March 10.

First off, a grant is paying for this program and part of the grant requires that we invite a United Healthcare representative and their smoothie bike. This person lives in Wausau and the weather conditions for Wausau look to be a little more intense with freezing rain and snow.

Second, our weather looks like we may get quite a bit of snow and/or blowing snow again. It’s possible that it will be done snowing by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday when the event was scheduled; however, the school itself won’t have custodians on staff during the weekend for shoveling and/or plowing so they are canceling their open gym.

Third, a smoothie competition requires quite a bit of prep work in terms of shopping and buying supplies. I don’t want to spend all that money on smoothie ingredients only to have to cancel on Sunday.
