Get Real! Volunteers Needed

Volunteer recruitment is currently underway for the 2020 Brighter Futures Conference for Wednesday, April 15th at the School District of Crandon. The Brighter Futures conference allows all 11th graders in Forest County to participate in a GET REAL! financial simulation activity designed to increase a youth’s awareness of what it costs to live as an independent adult and to encourage life skills related to budgeting, spending and community networking.

GET REAL is “staffed” by local business and community volunteers who provide a hands-on opportunity focused on personal finance. For example, realtors sell or rent houses, car dealers sell vehicles, a banker assists with accounts, and the grocery store has different monthly food plans. Student then add up their monthly costs and see if they are living within their means. We are excited about offering this financial simulation to our students and encourage Forest County business owners to consider participating in this event. Business owners or local non-profit organizations interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to call Michelle Gobert at 715-478-7797

Volunteers looking to register for the event may register here.

Thank you on behalf of the Forest County Partnership Coalition!
