Getting You Connected to Forest County Broadband

What is the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)?

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a U.S. government program run by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that helps many low-income households pay for broadband service and internet connected devices.

If your household is eligible, you can receive up to $30/month discount on your internet service and up to $75 a month if your household is on a qualifying tribal land. YOU can also get a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tab let or desktop computer.

How can I sign up for the Affordable Connectivity Program?

Please check here: https://acpbenefit.org/do-i-qualify/ to see if your household qualifies based on household size and income.  IF you do NOT have internet access, please go to the library and ask the librarians for assistance in bringing up that link.

Which providers in our area offer the ACP?

This is a little more complicated as you have to search for an internet service provider in our area that offers the ACP. This website: https://acpbenefit.org/companies-near-me/ and add your zip code. When I put in zip code 54520 it identified these providers: Astrea, Bugtussle Wireless, Charter Spectrum, Century Link, HughesNet, Frontier Communications

Do we really need faster connections?

Many businesses locally do. Your local government does. Many of you work from home and yes, you need it at your home. Business and government functions are greatly improved by this massive infrastructure project.

Those that need fast and affordable connections should have the option.
